Fully developed transporation network

Rail
The main railway from north down to south is divided into mountain line and sea line, The mountain line length is 43.448 kilometers, and the sea line length is 50 kilometers. Work has already begun on a comprehensive high-speed rail network that includes rapid mass transit for the Miaoli urban centers. When connected with the already-existing rail system covering the rest of Taiwan, the network will provide the Miaoli urban centers with unexcelled rapid service.

Road

Two State-owned highways and five provincial highways for total length are 202 kilometers. County-owned highways’ total length are 117.5 kilometers. Air

It cost 50 minutes from Miaoli to CKS International Airpor. Situated in Tayuan Township, the 1,200-hectare CKS International Airport is, as of the end of 2001, handling over 120 thousand flights carrying 1.8mliilon passengers and 1.1 million cargo tons per year. With the opening of a second terminal at CKS, and plans for development of an air passenger park and an air cargo park, the airport promises to be maximally outfitted to accommodate all transport requirements well into the future.
